Will TSMManager only control Windows based TSM servers  ?
No, the collector must be installed on a Windows platform, but from there it will work with TSM servers on any platform.

Will the installation change anything in my TSM server ?
NO !, absolutely nothing is changed in the setup of your TSM server

How many TSM servers can be controlled ?
You can control up to 30 servers per collector

How many viewers can I install ?
As many as you like. (and they are free of charge)

Will I have to pay a charge for new versions/releases ?
During the first 12 months after purchase, you download and use new updates for free. After that period, you can optionally buy extra 12 months of support and free upgrades.

Do I need the DRM feature to use the vaulting function ?
No, the vaulting function is a replacement of the DRM feature and works on its own.

I cannot print reports from the collector, nothing happens
The vaulting and other reports are printed by the collector service. By default this service runs under the "localsystem" account. This account is not able to print. You must run the collector service under a user id that has a default printer defined to it, then it will print.

I cannot make the vaulting function access the recovery files on my Windows TSM server
The file copying is done by the collector service. By default this service runs under the "localsystem" account. This account may have difficulties in accessing files on other Windows servers.
You must run the collector service under a user id that has access rights to collect files from the TSM server in order for this to work.

How do I move the collector to a new server without loosing the history I have already collected ?
1. Copy c:\program files\jamodat\tsmmgr_serv and ALL subdirectories from the old server to the new server.
2. Install the collector code normally on the new server.
It MUST be done in this order, but then no history is lost.
